Due to the weather warning for strong winds currently in place overnight and now throughout Saturday, we regrettably have no alternative but to cancel the Active Uckfield & WDC Activity day tomorrow (Saturday 10th August).

This partnership event with WDC has had a lot of work go into it, but the health and safety of everyone involved is paramount to us. Winds are expected to gust to over 50mph which even if that might be safe for a few activities it will certainly ruin the enjoyment and experience of the day.

We have therefore, made the difficult decision to cancel which is very unfortunate but necessary.

ite you to join their Sports & Activities Day on Saturday 10 August here in the heart of Uckfield!

The day offers activities for all ages and health levels, starting at 10am until 3pm on West Park Playing Fields – there is free car parking nearby within the TR Fastenings car park and refreshments – healthy ones of course – available throughout the day.

Come along with the family or work colleagues to try your hand at a whole range of activities including… football, rugby, tennis, squash, stoolball (only in Sussex), dance, yoga… or how about some personal training, table tennis, badminton or martial arts? There will be various fitness sessions for all levels and a fun run for all!

The day will offer advice on healthy food and diet for all ages and support with healthy things to do… in addition to sports and physical activities, there will also be lots of input with arts & crafts; keeping the mind as well as the body healthy!

As an employer reading this, you’ll know it makes sense to encourage staff to stay healthy, with ‘wellbeing’ essential for a productive workforce. Please share this blog with your networks and make this the biggest and best Uckfield Sports & Activities Day yet!

And if all of that wasn’t quite enough you’ll be amazed by the super talented skills of special guest, football freestyler, Charlotte Lade, who will appear between Midday and 2.00pm in the Activity Arena.

Growing up in Norway, Charlotte played football until she was 18 then decided to put
more time into her freestyling, which she had been doing since the age of 13. In 2006
Charlotte landed a place in the finals of the ‘Street football’ World Cup in Germany and
has since featured in The Sun Keep up and webuyanycar.com TV commercials (UK).

Not only is Charlotte well known for appearing on Wayne Rooney’s Street Striker
teaching the England forward some of her tricks, she also presents her own TV show
on Disney XD in Scandinavia called Disney XD Football Academy.

Charlotte is the official skills ambassador for Tottenham Hotspur FC, and has also
worked alongside international footballers like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Erik
Lamela, Christian Eriksen, Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney and many others. Regularly
performing at White Hart Lane and at various Tottenham Hotspur soccer schools,
Charlotte’s aim is to bring football freestyle to the front of people’s minds as a multi
gender sport – and she is certainly doing that!

Also appearing within the Activity Arena will be Emma Naylor Fitness, Uckfield Yoga Studio, TSM Martial Arts, Paracise Dance, Anytime Fitness, Scuba 2000, Tai chi and many more…

Special thanks to Chamber members The Highlands Inn, Rowland Gorringe, TR Fastenings and Uckfield FM. Head over to Facebook and ‘like’ the active-uckfield page!
