Children’s Hospice Week is the UK’s only awareness and fundraising week for children with life-shortening conditions and the services, like children’s hospices, that support them. It takes place this year between 22 and 28 June. And this year, your local children’s hospice, Chestnut Tree House has a top-secret mission for you.
For 17 years Chestnut Tree House has been there for local children and families when it matters most. But, coronavirus has had a devastating impact on their funding. Without people like you, Chestnut Tree House wouldn’t be able to provide hospice care for local children and their families.
You are all superheroes. So, dig out your funky fancy dress. Put on your cape. Grab your sidekicks. And take on the week – dressed as your favourite superhero, of course!
From being sponsored to wear fancy dress for the week to raising funds by putting your super skills to the test, however you choose to fundraise, you can be sure you will be making a real difference to the little heroes who need hospice care – now and in the future.
Need some inspiration? Chestnut Tree House has put some super simple fundraising ideas together for you so you can get a head start.
– Everyday hero – Make everyday count by donating the money you are saving at home to Chestnut Tree House, this could be the cost of your morning commute, your lunch money or the cost of your weekly trip to the cinema.
– Super silent – Are you the chatty chum in your household? Give everyone the super silent treatment for the week and ask them to pay for the privilege!
– Super secret sports mission – Why don’t you take on a physical challenge, dressed as your favourite superhero? Whether you take on a 5k, take on a keepy-uppy challenge or do a 100 press ups, the only limit to fundraising is your imagination.
