We are pleased to share this information to help local areas prepare for the introduction of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund; the UK Government is providing funding of £220M in 2021/22 through the UK Community Renewal Fund.
East Sussex County Council has been designated as a lead authority by the UK Government, with responsibility for:
- issuing the invitation
- receiving bids
- selecting the bids that will be sent to UK Government for consideration
- paying grants to successful projects and managing their performance
ESCC have published an invite on their website, which you can find HERE, seeking bids from organisations in East Sussex wishing to deliver activity as part of the UK Community Renewal Fund.
Projects must deliver activity that is in line with the UK Community Renewal Fund Prospectus and aligned with at least one of these investment priorities:
- investment in skills
- investment for local business
- investment in communities and place
- supporting people into employment
In selecting the bids that will be forwarded to the UK Government for consideration, East Sussex County Council will prioritise those bids that have the greatest potential to deliver against key local growth priorities. Links to those local plans and strategies will also be included on their website.
Applicants will be asked to inform East Sussex County Council of their ‘intention’ to submit a bid by Friday 16 April 2021, 5.00pm and final bids must then be submitted to East Sussex County Council on Friday 30 April 2021 by 12 Noon, using the same email address for both: communityrenewalfund@eastsussex.gov.uk.
As the UK Community Renewal Fund is a competitive process, East Sussex County Council and the UK Government will not enter into discussions with bidders.
