Having recently been crowned Uckfield’s ‘Business of the Year’ on the back of their success as ‘Best Rural Business’, South Brockwells Farm Partnership have recently had more award success.
Caroline Tasker from the farm picks up the story. “Following on from our local awards win, and evidently on a roll, we travelled to Birmingham on Thursday 20 October and scooped a British Farming Award for Diversification!
Having made it to the final four, (we were thrilled to have made it that far!) we were interviewed by a panel of judges from CLA, The Farmers Guardian, Strutt and Parker and last year’s winners who delved into the intricacies of the diversification efforts of our beautiful South Brockwells Farm. Knowing full well that our skillset doesn’t naturally lie with presenting to a panel of industry experts, (we are much more comfortable knee deep in mud and sheep!) we dug deep and evidently, our passion, enthusiasm and excitement for the farm shone through.
We were proud to share the farm’s journey since 1976 from sheep, asparagus, equestrian livery yard, farm shop, cross country course to the more recent introduction of the farm school and mobile farm where we are working with children, young people and our local community to engage them in farming and learn about the impact farming has on their lives and where food comes from.”
