Holy Cross CE Primary School, Uckfield, closed at the end of the Christmas term, having served the children in the town for c. 170 years. To commemorate this event, a group of former staff, parents and govenors at the school have put together an exhibition, showing the life of the school. The exhibition will be on display in Bridge Cottage, Uckfield High Street, from 24 February to 2 March. The exhibition will be open daily, 10-00 to 2-00 (except Sunday 25 February), with free admission.
Many people will have attended the school over that 170 years; have you items that could be included in the exhibition? This might include old uniforms, school reports, models made in lessons, projects booklets that you have kept – anything that tells the story of your time at the school.
If you have items, please contact the Holy Cross Church Office on 01825 764889, or Bridge Cottage.
There will also be a Service of Thanksgiving for Holy Cross School in Holy Cross Church, Uckfield, on Saturday 2 March, 11-00 am, to which all are welcome.
